Joel Ides

Joel Ides is a colorist with more than two decades in post and a background in photography and fine art. He grades documentary, narrative, and branded work at Fancy from first look through final deliverables.
Joel Ides earned a BFA in Fine Arts from Ohio Wesleyan and an MFA in Film Production from Loyola Marymount before building a color career that now spans more than fifty features.
In 2006 he graded the Chris Rock documentary Good Hair, which took a Special Jury Prize at Sundance, and his work since runs from HBO’s The Neistat Brothers and Hulu’s Behind the Mask to music videos for Ben Folds Five, John Fogerty, and Counting Crows. At Fancy he grades in Resolve across HDR and SDR, working with filmmakers from first grade through delivery.
